 Maybe I shoulda entered this one into Postcard...

In response to "doing anything" to it. The compacted field is due to being about 7 miles away from the State Capitol in the foreground and about 100 miles away from the peak you see in the background. The clouds are about 13 miles away resting above the footfhills. I was full extended with my 70-200 VR with a very small aperture to get this deep DOF.

So you did nothing major in the way of processing to it. It does look startlingly natural - but these days it's worth asking to be sure. The heavy sky feels like something in the photo has been inverted - usually it is the ground that has the heavier tones and shadows.
