Good image, fits alone well. I like the colors but I think the light is making it a little washed out. Also, I wish the crop wasn't so close, a wider expanse of empty sea would help promote the alone feeling even more. Good shot. 6 |

Great idea. Small photos have a hard time. This also looks a little tilted, running downhill from L to R. Your idea is good, just need a little bigger and straighter picture. 6 |

Too centered and the horizon is slanted. You met the challenge tho :-) |

i'm surprised this is the first sailboat i've seen submitted. still, based on the quality of the image, i can't give you very high marks.. also, it might be a good idea to avoid centering your subject. where you place your subject might have a strong effect on getting the intended mood across.. whether it be a certain vast expanse (covering the majority of the picture) beyond the sailboat.. kind of a lonely traveler effect... or the sailboat on the top edge of the photo.. a vast expanse between the eyes of the viewer and the boat itself.. which would certainly capitalize on the solitude feeling. the choice of subject is a bit obvious, but clearly fitting. I'm not very against cliche's because there's a reason they are so popular. still, i would suggest recropping.. i suppose the grainy quality isn't something you can handle. keep on trucking ;) i'm sorry i had to give you a 2 |

Using the rule of thirds could have improved this picture |
