The purpose was to get a nice shot of my Daughter and her future Husband.

I liked the diagonal lines of the image and entered it in the diagonal challenge while it doesn't have in your face can't miss it diagonal lines I think it works. What kind of feed back does the image work for an implied diagonal? What if anything would you improve as a potential wedding invitation image.

I had no trouble at all connecting the dots to make this diagonal. Like J.P. said, see if you can scrub out the bright spots, at least the ones under his ear. The leaves are ok with me. I like the border idea too. Best wishes to the couple.

My apologies if my initial comment, in retrospect it sounded too harsh ΓΆ€“ I just reread it and I could have been nicer. In reading your explanation I can see there are some implied diagonals. Keep up the good work, the photo by itself is very nice. I am not sure how to change this for a wedding invite maybe you could post it in a thread and see what other people can do with it. Good luck ΓΆ€“ and again my sincere apologies.

I am suprised at the number of comments claiming that you have not met the criteria of the challenge. 'In case you didn't it was called "Diagonal" and the intention was to incorporate the diagonal axis of the frame into your picture' it seems to me you have a very clear diagonal axis!
As far as a photo for a wedding invitation card goes, the only thing I would work on would be a complimentary border - perhaps an 'arty' torn paper type look?

I'm missing the diagonal in this photo - unless you are counting the V-neck sweater.

Nice study of two very similar smiles. Makes me wonder about their personality, and want to wish them well.

Not a strong diagonal element, IMO.

Pretty good portrait, just doesn't meet the challenge...

But where's the diagonal?

A nice shot...but I'm having some issues with meeting the challenge.

Why is this diagonal?

Where is the diagonal?

Don't see the diagonal emphasis here.

Nice portrait but I don't see how it meets the challenge.

I wonder how many folks will see the diagnoal pose? I love their smiles! I don't like the white spots to his right or the leaves above her head though. Overall good tone and feel.

I see what you are trying to get at with the height diference; but I am not sure if it is a diagonal composition to me.
11/29/2006 09:47:37 AM
Not really getting a feeling of diagonal composition in this shot. Sorry.
11/29/2006 07:44:36 AM
The only diagonal I see is the difference in height... Was that the intent?
