 Sunrise at Lake Tahoe.

Shot with an 81C warming filter (and probably a graduated ND filter to darken the sky, but I don't remember for sure if this particular shot used it or not!) I underexposed by 1/3 stop to also help prevent the sky from blowing out.

I decided to go the DPC route with this one and boost the colors and saturation to the point where it is surreal. It will be interesting to see how it scores.

PP:
Curves, Color Balance, Hue/Sat, Clone out some light colored stuff at the bottom, crop, resize and save for web.

Post Challenge:
Ok, I obviously have no idea what voters here are looking for! At the same time this shot lands my worst placement yet, there is a blue ribbon on the front page with the saturation pushed up so far that it creates pixelation and hard edges between color blending areas.

I like the sharp contrast and sillouettes of the trees. Not sure about the purpliness, but gives it a definite abstract feel that's appealing.

I think the forground needs to do more for the picture, needs to be more intresting.

If there were more blue, rather than purple, perhaps the reds and ambers would have more punch. Still just a pretty sky shot to me, however.
