Camera: Sony DSC-F828
Location: River Heights, UT USA

Aperture: f 8.0
ISO: 64
Shutter: 2/5

I thought I'd try a "natural" shot instead of getting out the white backgrounds and all, so I thought this would be interesting, and it would kind of tell a story at the same time. I really have no idea how it will be received, but I hope some enjoy it! I thought it worked out well, and I'm very pleased with it. Now all I have to do is write the cook book!

Set up: this is natural light coming from the window as the key lighting (not direct light, though--I'm just outside of that in the shadow). Several flourescent bulbs are placed to the left of the photo for fill lighting.

PP: Lots of fiddling with levels. I selected the outside third of the photo with a large feather and raised the levels and desaturated slightly to make the whole photo appear more "white." It really came to life when I sharpened it.

I can't believe this finished so low. It is so natural and has a lot of character. Great job!

I absolutely agree, it is very underrated! :(
I like it a lot and I don't really know exactly why. probably because it is so natural and still not hyper-naturalism. :)

Ahhh, breadmaking! Very satisfying. Love the flour on the hands, and how the hands really look like working hands. ~7

I think this photo needs more context to make a better impact.

The only thing off here is the blue tint of the baker's apron IMO. Love the flour on the hands.

a little too much blue cast in the photo for my taste, would love to see without the cast.lovely hands and textures.

Nice shot, good concept, but somehow the apron/background just doesn't look right.
