Greetings from the Critique Club: I have been assigned your photo to critique and here are my thoughts:

Personal Reaction: Your photo “interests” me. Worth looking at for awhile and trying to puzzle out what’s going on.

Composition: Fine, better than fine in fact, good. Probably a little busy â€Â¦ maybe fewer bulbs to focus my attention.

Technicals: All fine except that the photo is over exposed. Here is a good example where combining a hot photo with a cool version to broaden the dynamic range might work well. Keep the hot light, but cool the bread et al. You could do this with multiple layers in Photoshop. Or you might use masks to do it.

Conclusions: I like your out-of-the-box thinking. You executed the photo well. Managing the exposure better and simplifying the image would have raised the score.

As always, this is my personal opinion. Feel free to PM me if you’d like further dialog.

that's a different spin on this. Until I read the title I thought it was macaroni and cheese on the bread.

had fun, didn't you? Interesting composition. IMO, it could use a little more contrast and bit sharper focus. Thanks for the smile!

I loved the concept for your work, very creative, though I think if the shot were better lit it might have been a bit better.

technically good, but glass with mayo is too much!

If it weren't for the challenge, why would you have taken this?

I find the light overpowers the image so it's hard to focus on anything else... when I do, the mayo stuff is a bit ikky (sorry for the harsh words - just my humble opinion)

Definitely a case of thinking outside the box! Clever concept.

This would have been more effective for me if you had stayed with the single bulb
