Our "other son" made it home for Thanksgiving JUST in time to take this shot (7:30pm). We had it staged and ready as he walked in the door, and had him change in the living room. His first modelling assignment (thanks Steve)!

Shot through a glass top moved to a couple of workhorses, and lit be 2 studio lights.

Very cool image. I'm sure it'll get slammed for the noise but I absolutely love it. :-D

the picture is grainy, but that may have been on purpose - thanks for the reminder!

not so fond of the noise, but the image is intruiging me. 9

Great idea and pretty good execution. Unfortunately, I think that the noise/grain effect is so overdone that it detracts from an otherwise very powerful and well done image.

powerful sentiment..but way to grainy for me to rate it higher

very interesting POV and processing. shooting through the table has worked well for you here IMO and i love the grain. great job.

this would be great if the photo was less grainy

Excellent composition, strong message and I really like the use of the grain to help convey the time period. Well done!

very nice idea... not sure about the grainyness

I love this example. The level of grain is a bit distracting and to an extent spoils this for me. Grain works really well in some pictures, but I would have liked a sharp focus of the subject.

is the grain on purpose?

Returning for comments. I like this shot and scored it well. My only quibble is the noise is a bit too much. Having that much makes it look a bit too fake, IMO.

It could be argued that the noise adds to this, but I would still prefer it without.

Beautifully done. I expect you'll get hammered for the noise/grain, but it suits the image, it suits the time portrayed, and it suits me.

Wonderful emotive. The piece of paper is subtle and very well composed. 10.

Bit noisy. IMO, more blur on the face and let the paper be alone.

Good for you! The use of grain in photos on this site does not do well, I know from experience! This is a great shot but dont expect the 'mob' at dpc to appreciate it.

Extremely well done! I like the film grain look. . . gives it some authenticity.

Great idea, the noise kind of killed it for me (check out Annah's shots for recreating the old). Would have also liked to see more perspective/depth. 6, minus noise, 5.

Top notch photo! The perspective is terrific, as is the processing. Very much the feel of the 60's with the noise and tones. Some small detail are pulling this forward in time, the wide tie, the hair cut and even the fit of the shirt. That is soooo hard to avoid. Excellent work 9

good work, would even be better if the note was upside down.

Nice shot. I like the noise in this shot. B&W really adds to it. 7

first of all I don't know the history, but I had something similar in mind for my year, so I love the concept and the angle of view is pretty nice, what I don't like is the grain... too much added

This is excellent. One of my two top picks for this challenge. The grain is a great addition and the Blagk/White keeps with the time. Great shot.

cool idea, grain effect a little on the heavy side.

To grainy for me, even though I think it must be intentional here ...
