 On May 11, 1950 one of the most famous UFO sightings in history occurred in McMinnville, Oregon. Over fifty years later it\'s authenticity is still under debate. I didn\'t have time to drive out to McMinnville which is about 30 miles away from me. Google McMinnville UFO and you\'ll find many sites with the original picture.

Thank you ALL for the great comments! I am so pleased with the scoring on this, my third competition. I put more thought into this one than the previous two and I guess it helped. Growing up in the 50's/60's I was always facinated with UFO's and when this challenge came out I immediately thought of the famous McMinnville siting that occurred the year I was born. I didn't have time to try to find a closer match to the orig site but had fun looking for an old building that i could use. I had a small metal lid to a sauce pan which I carried with me for several days so i could toss it up and shoot it if/when I found the right spot. I located this shed during my lunch break one day...set up my tripod and started tossing and clicking. I shot about 20 exposures of which 3 had the "UFO" up in the air. I kept looking around to see if anyone was around but luckily I think i got away with doing this unseen. It was great fun! I was going to post a picture of my UFO in hand here for fun but I'm in Hawaii on vacation right now :-) so it will have to wait. Again, thank you all for the votes and comments!

omg Carlos, this is SO underrated! I loved it, thought it was perfectly like the images we've seen in the past from random public sightings. The ufo is hysterical and I gave you a 10!

Good trick for basic editing. You must have tossed that a hundred times to get it right. Photo is a little oof and grainy, though. Also, shadows are a bit too dark for my taste.

Love the trees and clouds, and UFO of course, definitely a 50's feel to this image, not too sure about the fence, would prefer just the open field I think.

Interesting recreation of an old image. This looks so much like a shot from that era. I'd love to know how you got the UFO in there. Unfortunately for this challenge, creating an image from this era produces an image that is lacking in detail and contrast. I'd love to see you get both. 6
