 Pffff... this was a touch challenge. Nothing really happened in my year, at least nothing that inspired me to take a photo of.

I hope nobody's gonna search for the facts, because Sid Vicious was found dead by his mother in bed. I read that fact when I allready took the photo. But, it was a last minute entry, so no time to shoot again.

From Wikipedia:
The story goes that Sid was unable to live without his beloved Nancy Spungen, and committed suicide. The police also suggests that Vicious' mother was responsible for administering the fatal overdose of heroin. As a regular heroin user herself, this theory holds that the administration of a lethal dose was intentional. The police found this poem for Nancy in his back-pocket:

You are my little baby girl,
We share all Our fears.
Such joy to hold you in my arms
and kiss away all your tears.
But now you're gone, there's only the pain
and nothing I can do about it.
And I don't want to live this life any more,
If I can't live for you.
To my beautiful baby girl.
Our love will never die...

I painted my hair with black water-make-up (usually for your face), used white make-up for my face, black makeup for my eyes and lips, the fishnet-shirt is probably familiar for a lot of people (click), the background is a 3-doors room-shield (probably from the 70s too).

I know my fingertips are a bit too feminime (and my upperbody and face too, lol) but hey, I'm a girl ;-) I did my best to look a bit like Sid.

I surely hope you guys can "enjoy" my entry, and I surely hope too that this image isn't too offending. I did my best :)

I read the haunting book about the girl who was Sid Vicious' girlfriend who also died shortly after him -- those were dark days for alot of people as the drug culture was at its peak. I think this is a great portrayal of those days! Great job!

Aha, you can't fool me, she's too good looking for Sid Vicious. More seriously, the image is gritty, dark, powerful, and oddly effective, even the tilt and the curtains in the background.

Gritty and stylish... nice job! Back to bump up a bit... One comment though. I think this would have been more powerful without the background. Black would be a good counterballance for this, being so intense and direct.

A very well composed and graphically strong image. However, overall it came out average to me. The foreground details are nearly lost in the lighting, the image is disturbing, and the event has no impact to me personally. I don't know who Sid Vicious is or what impact she had on the year. 5

The elements are there to illustrate the event clearly even without the title, which is more than I can say for a lot of the entries. Strangely not emotive for a death scene, but that may be a personal reaction on my part, as I don't think the actual event affected me much, either.
