Thanks for all the comments. I agree with most. The text was a little 'too much' and the quality (as is too usual for me) was not there either. The pixelation was due mainly to resizing but sharpening in bad lighting for editing conditions, made it worse. Have to stop editing outside. The off-center bothered me too but - another last minute scurry.

I wish I was there as well, very pretty, love the softness of it.

I could barely see the "flying with me over the..." part on my monitor.

Beautiful capture of the bird in flight, but the lettering, especially "Gulf of Mexico", takes over the picture.

The photo is great. I think the text would be better if it was a lot more subtle. Also the compression seems very heavy and has damaged the image. As I said at the start though, its a great shot.

Elegant and very uplifting even with all the type! Bump.

Great shot with the bird, beach, and sky. I'd like it better with the titles scaled down, less distraction, and I'd be able to see more waves, etc.

Very cool photo and postcard - the 'gulf of mex' text just has too much halo around it - otherwise just about perfect.

Beautiful bird and sand, and the choice of white letters at the bottom worked as did the type of script. To my eye, the rest of the text is quite distracting. 5

There is too much sharpening here. Jaggies Jaggies Jaggies. ;-)

Nice selection of fonts, and the bird detail is beautiful. I'd clone out the halo around the bill and legs. I don't think this needs the "flying with me ..." text, and the outer glow (or whatever it is) on the 'Gulf of Mexico' is a little too much. If the shadows were down onto the water and not in the sky, I think it would be more appealing.

The photo is wonderful - it looks as though you have got a tricky exposure spot on. Unfortunately the writing spoils this one for me - I would have preferred something more restrained and subtle.

Whoa! This photo is so awesome! I LOVE IT! I'd like to see less and smaller text just so the photo itself could get more attention.

Picture looks a little over sharpened, or perhaps something happened in resizing for the web as the heron's beak is very pixelated. I think it may have been more effective as well to leave off the burning around the "Gulf Of Mexico" text. I like the choice font. Score: 5.
