The composition and coloring are perfect. Before I read the title I thought it was at sunrise because there looks like fog over the water in the background. The ship off the the left works perfectly to fill what would be some empty space on the left. I would have scored this a 10, although I am slightly biased having been born and raised in Staten Island. |

You did a great job with the gradient map - really adds life to this. I agree with your sentiment about her looking out over the water - the composition you chose is a powerful one. I also like how the distant shore is blurred, which accents the sharpness of the water and the silhouette. Nice capture and very nice editing! (And very nice score and finish, too.) |

Jeff,
This is so pretty - talk about a shot that would make a great postcard! I think it is more than just a pretty photo, though - when I look closely at the colors and textures in the water, the great composition and silhouette, and the misty feel at skyline, I suspect it took a lot of work to compose and execute. And look at that score from the commenters!
Great job, you should be proud of this. |

I've never used a gradient map. I'll have to experiment, if this it what it can do. |

YES!! The foggy area down by the water adds a nice layer of softness. Beautiful scene. I like the composition. |
