 I was a radio DJ for 11 years, and now I apparently have this fixation with taking photos of microphones :) I wanted to create the look & feel of a concert/bar scene. I used three lights, a blue one (top), orange (top) and red (from below), and I fired up the fog machine to give it a little haze.

Cropped a bit tighter than conventional wisdom would suggest, but I like it. The noise on the well-blurred background works well here.

Nice use of lighting on your subject. I like the composition. I feel some energy from this shot as if a band member is going to pop out any second now and start singing.

Great focus, lighting is warm and not harsh like I'd expect from a spot light. I think it works better this way though. There seems to be a light haze or heat from lights in the air, this gives a nice subtle depth to the image. I get a sense of a concert getting ready to start, or having just finished. Nice photo. 7

Very interesting lighting. How do you get the variety of color - the various blue highlights in what looks like red lights.

Love this. Focus is just right and the lighting is prefectly moody. This is the first image I've looked at, but I think this is a winner. Love the background, too. Good luck!

Good idea well executed. But IMO the bottome needs a good cropping, I find the red lit chrome stand distracts for the beautifully lit mic shield.
