This my friend Davíð Smári. Was too late getting this shot as I wanted it to come out, we took it about half an hour after sunset so it was getting pretty dark but it was ok, I just wish I had been there half an hour earlier (my fault) so I could have used a faster shutterspeed and maybe f2.0, this is slightly out of focus and motion blurred viewed in full size.

Lit with a single bowens monolight and a 75° softlite reflector.

Kindof heavy on the pp work, channel mixer for b/w conversion, sky was kindof monotone so I used curves and burn to lighten it up and cause the vignetting, same on the foreground and boosted the contrast WAY up, both in raw conversion and with curves.

Am editing this at about 1 am and have to wake up in a few hours so I am totally lost for a better title than his name, will probably think of a great title in the morning :)

A top shot as usual, which you can produce without even trying. I love the lighting.
P.S. I'll remember about the beer if I can ever make it to Iceland. ;-)

Lots of character in this shot. The model almost seems too young for the shot. Not sure if that makes sense but my thinking is had he been older, more bearded and a bit closer the score goes through the roof. Well that's my lame attempt to critique this. Obviously it scored well as is. Perhaps that black and white ribbon shot is on the horizon.

A very impressive capture as if from way back in the past. A good vintage flavor.

I love the way he stands out from the background but that the background is still important to the feel of this picture. The lighting used on his jeans gives this picture a nice warm glow that I imagine is difficult to do in black and white. I think you have done an amazing job capturing this young man and an even better job capturing a mood. One of my fav's here, 10.
