Challenge: HDR (Advanced Editing V*)
Collection: Challenge entries
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Location: Brimham Rocks, Yorkshire, England
Date: Nov 12, 2006
Aperture: f9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/125
Date Uploaded: Nov 12, 2006

HDR and tone-mapping from three RAW conversions (Elements 4), using Photomatrix.
1 - As shot overexposed plus 0.5
2 - As shot
3 - As shot underexposed minus 1.0

I can't remember all the settings for the tone-mapping in photomatrix, but I had the strength set to about 80%, luninocity to about -7, saturation about 50%, and micro-contrast smoothing to 10.

Cloned out the Photomatrix wording.

Hello, this is Inma (Imagine74)

First Impression: funny and nice
Composition: well done, the stones at the front give strength to the picture

Technical: good use of HDR, the colours of the stones and the golden leaves really well done
Improvement: perhaps the sky is a bit "non real"
Summary: nice picture, funny title and finding

Oh, this was one of my favorites!! I am truly surprised to see that it didn't score in the upper 6's! It's so strong and well done!!!

Really nice use of HDR to bring out the background hills and sky. The colors are good too.

This subject doesn't really capture my attention. I think the foreground actually provides more interest than the main rock.

You've captured some nice detail in the rocks though I wonder if the image would be more appealing if more of the landscape in the background were visible.

Oh, I LOVE IT! These striking rock formations make such interesting photos. And I do love the range of light, shadows and colors you have achieved. Great job!
