now that i read the comments i think this pic would have done great in the portrait challenge, nevertheless i thought the challenge was black and white in color, hence my submission.

Courageous submission on the challenge, both for the interpretation and the expression. Effective, disturbing, bump for courage.

Excellent photo! Clearly doesn't belong in this challenge, but it's got such great intensity that I can't bring myself to giving it less than 8

Sorry. While you have black and white on the subject's face I just don't feel like this really fits in with this challenge. That aside the expression is just kinda weird rather than intense.

good for you! a color picture in b&w! the only thing I don't like is the conventional off-center framing. 7

Techincally, I suppose this does meet the challenge, because it does have black and white in it, and there are no challenge details saying there cant be colour as well, unless Black & White I says so.

I like the black background against the white face, its seems as though it may be a bit oversharpened but I am not sure. I like the composition here. Hope you aren't losing points because its not in black and white and imagine you have recieved a few DMC's, I wish you had desaturated it to see how it would have worked, I am sure it would have with all the contrast here.

Hey. . .that's not black and white. I see red lips and flesh-toned ears. Hmmmmmm. Interesting photo tho for sure.

Striking idea and good composition. Parts of the pic seem out of focus though (e.g. the nose)?
