This shot was taken just before sunrise in a park near the 'Berlage Brug' in Amsterdam. I used my teleconverter lens to gain at least a little less DOF than would otherwise have been possible. I think the picture speaks for itself: maybe I should have left something more for the imagination; I don't know. It was originally a colour photo, after adding more contrast, I converted it to black and white and than added a bluish tint to it. I also cropped the picture a little as the (overexposed) sky was distracting. Of course I also had to sharpen the picture (the A40 takes quite soft picture. Too much for my liking anyway).

Nice composition, great coloring too - helps make the mood. Model's pose furthers this as well. Lighting and focus looks good. A nice solid image. I'm not sure about the border though, distracts for me a little. 7

Love the size of the rock in relation to the subject. Really brings down the significace of the person. If the subjecty was not looking down this would not have worked. Good job

the blue helps a lot - as does the light toned jacket - makes the subject stand out more from the background. The big rock obviously adds a big weight to the bottom of the shot too. good entry (9)

In my opinion, this is a great image. The subject looks alone, the composition and the light are excellent. And the tone gives it a cool feeloing. Nice image. One of my favorites.
