 I love high contrast b/w - and when I was visiting my grandad last week I though it would be a great chance to take some photos of his wrinkly old head.

Lighting setup is a bit shoestring, I didn't have a reflector so I got my aunty to hold up an old silver space blanket with the off camera sb800 off to my left - and the on camera flash set to about 1/32 power for a bit of fill. I went for this version because I like the reflection of the flash/foil in his glasses - probably get voted down for the reflection but I like it.

PP - curves layer, levels layer masked to make the shirt darker, high pass layer soft light opacity, and a chanel mixer layer to convert to b/w. Resize and save for web

a fabulous shot with great focus, tones and detail. The flare off the spectical lens is a little distracting but IMO 8
