I like your choice of shooting into the sun to create the silhouette. This use of lighting gives the impression of a great day at the beach coming to a close... your younger subject seems happy and carefree.

Silhouettes are always so flat, but there are enough clues on the beach to give this image some depth.

The child certainly looks carefree! I like the silhouette look and I always enjoy seascapes. Great use of space and light is what helps make this image, though the sun's rays are harsh and slightly unappealing. I definitely get a happy go lucky feeling from the image. Well portrayed. 7

My favourite of the challenge, i like everything about this shot , its not possible for me to find fault with it. if this does not get a top 5 finish i will be speechless. a 9 from me.

I'm not usually a fan of the big blurry sun in a picture, but I think in this particular image it works well, and without it I dont think it would have had the same impact. The tone is wonderful, the fact that you can see the details in the surrounding environment is great, it looks perfectly exposed. The silver-like reflection of the sand is good. I also like that they are in silhouette so that you dont have to spend too long looking at the detail of them but just enjoy the entire scene. The lighting certainly sets the mood here, and the title reflects that mood well.
