it was sour cream in the center, unfortunatly a bit runny, but couldn;t be helped.
This was a rushed excersize before work the day it had to be in, and didn;t realise the cream was overexposed till I put it on the computer :(
There was a knife and fork in the photo, but I had to do some harsh cropping because I did this on a bedside dresser, it was a really dark red wood, and nice reflective. I wish I had taken some without the fork, I have a ps'd version without the fork and it looks much better and balanced!
The cashews in the back, they were in a pot I was eating, and the photo was too plain, to I put the pepper in and tipped some of my cashews on the table, I felt it really helped the photo.... but didn't even think of the 'must be in the dish'.. thanks for pointing that out. |

A bit soft (sharpening would have helped). The nuts and pepper work well in the background. |

Mmmm, recipe please! :-) Can't wait to see this one.
Nice presentation. I like how you've included the nuts and pepper in the background. |

Lovely one! Althought I would have taken the fork in photo with its whole wideness - and bit more of the the red pepper too -, and I don't really know what do the nuts in the back do with goulash. But... but I think I go upstairs and make this one for dinner! :) Would give 9 if I could vote. |

This shows very good the dish and the ingredients. I like very much the picture even I don't like the ingredients, sorry, I'm \"almost\" vegetarian!:)
Good luck =8 |

pretty display of a delicious looking goulash. The white sauce in the center (sour cream? Yogurt?) is undoubtedly an important ingredient for the dish, but, to my view, it contrasts too sharply with the softer, more muted colors of the rest of the picture. |

2 comments and a couple of questions. First this looks very tasty, good job!. My only nitpicking comment is that the sour cream in the middle seems blown out.
Are those Cashews in the background? and how do they figure into the dish? (This is not affecting my score, I guess I'll just have to wait for the recipe) |

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, this looks soooooooooo good! What time is dinner? :)
This is a very appetizing photo, it makes me hungry, which is good, the colors are vibrant, clear, crisp and the lighting seems just a hair bright but overall very well done. The only distraction is the cashews in the upper left corner. I like the fork peeking into the shot, my utinsil to eat but the cashews throw me off, there are too many of them. Starting with an 8 on this one. |

Great color usage. The noodles look fairly well defined. The food does look good. I like the use of the black background, but I find the ingredients spilled in the back a bit distracting. Would've rathered the shot be filled by the goulash instead - not cut off in the right hand corner, I think it is strong enough to stand on its own - no props needed. Lighting looks good. 6 |

You put cashews in your goulash? Can't wait to see this recipe. I would have left out the fork, it's a little distracting. Like the DOF. Seems a little over exposed. Nice composition. |

Beautiful ... you were wise to keep the focus as far foward as possible. |

i think that the forks a little distracting because its not the whole way in the shot - i'd like to see it all the way in or the shot is strong enough to do without. Just a thought. Nice pic. |
