 simply picked from the garden, placed on my mothers marble slab (normally used for prepraring meat and fish) and shot with 2 bedroom spot lights and one desk lamp.

focused on the scapel to highlight the scientific element.

bearly any pp done, basically as is. a tiny tweak to the levels and a small sharpen, and oc, the boarder.

I'll probably get grumbled at for doing a 'flowery' photo however, botany is branch of science and I have always loved the botanical drawings, they are amazingly detailed. my aim was to capture some of the feeling of those drawings.

What's a passiflora caerula exactly? :-) Very good shot, impacting colours!

I like that you tried to show some of the botany involved in botany rather than just another flower pic.
