My friend juliana with her holoween "fairy" wings. Nope they aren't drawn in or anything.
I know this looks pretty noisy, but this was done in VERY dark conditions at twilight in a thick redwood forest. Hence, very low shutter speed and higher ISO. I had to have her hold her breath so it wouldn't be blurry. I didn't realize exactly HOW dark it was until I put them into my copmputer, I could barely see the highlights of the image! I used "digital flash" to brighten it. Anyway, I really like the dark moody lighting on her face, although it might not work for others. My main deiting tool was dodging and burning. I DID NOT draw in her eye by burning even though it looks like it...I think she must have blinked. Did a lot of burning around her to take some of the distracting elements from the background away.

This is a very good study. I'm drawn to it and ike it very much. However, I had to get past the distraction of whatever the white vertical line is at her feet. It may be a sneaker sole or something else, but I wish it was not there, or at least subdued. Not enough to hurt my opinion though. This is very good.

I wish the wings were not cut off at the top

Is the softness intentional or is this just out of focus, looks like the focus was on the hand in the foregrounds.

I think the focus could be a little bit sharper. Nice thought in the photo and title.
