Hand-held camera at the first Farmer's Market of the season. The outdoor market closes down in the hottest summer months here in Florida.
The "honey people" who sell honey, had a display of live bees in a hive, enclosed in glass so we, the public may view them. The most difficult thing was the glare on the glass, since I didn't have a polarizer.

Inside a honeycomb.. nice idea for the challenge. It looks like most of the bees are dead, they are upside down. The image seems a bit grainy, otherwise - well shot!

Yikes! Oh I guess they are behind glass so that not sooo much of a yikes. Interesting shot. The bottom of the photo is a little too unfocused for my taste.

EEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!! LOL! What did you spray them with to quiet them down? I\'m know they usually use smoke to settle them down and the white across the bottom is making it a bit too fuzzy. More contrast and a bit more clarity would score this much higher. I\'m starting with a 4, will be back to look again before the end of the challenge.

I'm back and looking again at the ones I started lower and looking at this again, I like the smoke effect, it almost looks like ice! Raising you to a 6 for now.

Very nice interpretation on the challenge but IMO is let down by a lack of overall sharpness.

This is a beautiful view of something few of us ever see close up. I wouldn't take a shot like this, except with a really long remote, but then I don't have much occasion to deal with bees.

interesting and unique response to the challenge...bees are incredible - I wish the ones toward the bottom middle of the image weren't so washed out

Focus is a little soft or there might have been a dirty pane of glass. Interesting subject.

This is definitely a tough subject to photograph. The glass or plexiglass between you and the bees is making it difficult to create strong contrast in this image.
