I love this photograph. I think it should have ranked much higher. The contrast is terrific and going black and white was an excellent choice. |

Love the patterns here, good idea to focus just on the roots rather than whole tree. |

Excellent subject and good technical work. I feel as though I would have taken this picture myself. |

love the angle and use of b&W. gives me an eerie feeling... like fingers creeping out of, yet grabbing into the soil. Very effective. |

Wow, beautiful! Somehow, although this picture is very abstract, with no clear centre of interest, I still don't feel that it's confusing. The black and white is very rich. |

I have seen root structures like these and find this picture doesn't have quite enough impact for a 10. I do find it an agreeable photo though. =7 syamjonimi |

I really like this. Maybe you could post it in color sometime. Id just like to see it that way. black and white looks good too. |

Great shot. I love the shapes that nature makes naturally. Black & white really works well. If I was REALLY picky - some of the debris( twigs and bits) kind of detract from the flowing roots, maybe having brushed some of them away first - very subjective. Well done - lamedos |

This is just great. When I first starting getting interested in photography, I wanted to do shots just like this (I still need some practice). I like the b/w - you'll have to post an outtake of the color version, if possible. Great work!! 9 Ruthann |

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject. Composition - very good Technical Aspects - quite good Meets Challenge - yes Visual Impact / Originality - good

This is really neat. I would have liked to see some of the trunk though...to connect the roots with life, so to speak. Nice choice for b&w. 7 LIsa |
