Home made kite and large woody. I intended to have a beautiful kite flying with woody being lifted up by the wind into the sky. But I couldn't find a beautiful kite in any store in the area after phone calls and visits in person. So I ended up buying material at Michaels, and spent some of my Saturday making my own kite.
Today, it was windy, but the wind was swirling and inconsistent. Through many attempts, repair, and retries, the kite never flew steadily enough to set up the photo. So I had to prop it up and take some shots before the light was gone, thus the crop and not the whole kite and woody. I tried some shots with fill flash shot through a reflector, but I didn't like any of them.
While craft work is it's own reward in the doing of it, I still wanted a photo to show for the effort. It least I got this shot, even though it is far from what I intended. Oh well, hope that at least a few people like it anyway.
Manual exposure, 17mm.
ACR exposure/brightness/contrast/saturation, PS crop, rotate, levels, color, resize, color profile, despeckle, USM, save for web.
It's time to mail-order a beautiful kite and get Neat Image.
