The thing about a portrait is the eyes. You have to connect through the eyes. In this shot they are totally in shade, I can't tell if this is a stuffed lion or a live lion. |

Should either be deliberately off-centre or centred. I think if it was centred, the shadow on the left-side would have been more powerful and narrative of the animal's character. |

Very sculptured with lots of texture. I think a border would have helped make this stand out a little better. |
