Challenge: Wind II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Sony DSC-V1
Location: Staten Island, NY
Date: Oct 26, 2006
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 2 secpmds
Galleries: Portraiture, Action
Date Uploaded: Oct 26, 2006

Some buddies of mine decided to pose and stay still for this 2 second exposure. It was very windy outside that night, 40 degrees or so, but felt much colder. So we lit a fire and then it struck me that fire can really show that wind is present .

Editing: Contrast raised considerably. Background was very black naturally, and I spot edited some street lamps out and backyard fence.

Like the spark trails, though they don't particularly indicate any wind direction since they seem to be flying all over the place.

I'm not really getting "wind" here, even though I've thought about it. Maybe I'm stupid. Also, the composition could, imho, be a little better - I'd like to see more of the guy behind the fire (or whatever it is).

Excellent take on the challenge. I see where you're coming from and I like the laid back feel here. Well executed.
