I think Nikita is going to keep you on your toes...I used to have a cat once that would jump at least 5ft to grap a ribbon dangling from a helium balloon. it was her favorite toy. I would always have a balloon floating around my house for Sera to jump....
Do me a favor, get one for Nikita....(make sure it is the Mylar type not a latex) |

Your cat will get their soon. She looks like the same type of cat as Missy and Suzy, and I'm sure they could attack the cord with a jump from the ground.
I reckon I'd crop the pole and the chair out of this photo for clarity. |
