 The picture is of the main ingredients just before I put them in the bowl. I added the lemon for a decorative effect. The lemon was used after the shot to create the lemon juice!

GREEK SALAD WITH AVOCADO & HALLUMI CHEESE

Ingredients:

- 1 medium Hass avocado
- 3 slices of hallumi cheese
- 1 beef tomato
- half of a medium red onion
- 20 seedless black & white grapes
- ground salt & pepper
- lemon juice
- extra virgin olive oil (Greek)
- malt vinegar
- dried mixed herbs

Instructions:

Cut the avocado, hallumi cheese, red onion & beef tomato into 1cm squares and place in a bowl. Take the 20 seedless grapes, cut them down the middle once, and add them to the bowl (I didn't have any grapes for my salad this time), then add 2-3 soup spoons of olive oil, 2-3 soup spoons of lemon juice, & 2-3 soup spoons of malt vinegar, add salt & pepper, and finally about 3-4 pinches of dried mixed herbs. Mix all together and serve with whatever food you are having & fresh bread! Easy and yummy! Enjoy!

Composition is great. The tomatoes are a little pale. You could have played with the reds a bit maybe. The cheese could use more detail.

I like the colors and the composition a lot here, but I think this could use some improvement on the lighting, the Tomatoes look kind of orange and the cheese and the white part of the lemon are too bright. I can't really tell exactly how this was lit, but I think if you had broadly diffused the main source and used a bit of direct light to bring out the highlights it might help.

The flash is a bit too harsh and has given washed out the colours.

I like the texture and colors, a little too much light on the lemon slices. But a enjoyable photo.

Good Points:nice idea with the different colors, like the way you have centred teh lemon.
Bad Points:way to brightly lit. A lot of detail has been lost as a result of that and the lemons are blown out.

I love color and this has oodles! Great setup, the color play is perfect. Lighting looks a bit over-bright, particularly in the cheese and lemon rinds. The tomatoes have just a bit too much glare as well. But as a whole this ia marvelous shot. 7

The range and varying colors here are good, it looks fresh, and fairly sharp. The main problem I see are the overblown whites, mainly on the rind of the lemon slices and the cheese(?) in the top right. They seem to dominant the image.
