I took about 15 shots practicing getting the right location in front of the camera, the exposure (which kept changing,of course), and my _expression. I had waited about an hour for the train to show up in this direction. One had gone by the other way, but it didn't work as well with the direction of the sunset - I wanted the sun more to my back than my front. When it finally arrived it stopped. I wasn't expecting it to stop. I wanted it closer. But, the sun had just gone down over the horizon - I mean just - and I knew this was going to be the last shot of the day, so I took it. It turned out a lot better than I expected. I really like the train at that distance.

I like the composition in this shot. It really feels like I'm there. The man looks like he belongs there (and probably does!). The tracks lead my eyes deeper into the shot and not away from it. Nice!

Don't we all wish it were that easy to get a ride in the engine. I like this image, great DOF, good expression, and funny. I wonder if it would have had a bit more impact if the engine were a bit closer. Good job!

Nice idea. I wish you hadn't cut off the rest of his cap in your crop.
