Your main subject (the floating object) is probably a bit too close to the top of the shot and even a little blurry. It's a good idea for a shot though.

I'd like to have seen much less of the base unit and more of the top with some sense of space above it. I like these toys and was going to get one - looks fun. I think some more dramatic directional lighting would be good and faster shutter speed would help too. Or slow it down so that the top is even more blurred showing the action.

a clean background would have helped

Defying gravity??? Heck, if it wasn't for gravity, that top would should right out to outerspace. It's the gravity that's keeping in balance with the magnetic field!!! OK. Time to stop being a smartass. Nice framing and cropping. An excellent choice for this challenge. The only downside is that the top is slightly blurred, probably due to the wobble. Using more light and less aperture could have sharpened it. But overall, it doesn't take much away from the photo. Kudos.

you could have exploited this nice effect in a better way (may be higher, close frame ...), otherwise it look a bit dull

I saw this on a gadget web site and had the same idea... lol...

The shot's excellent! Although I woudn't have left the greyis-yellowish thing on the picture (on the thing at the bottom), or I would have shoved exactly what's that, if it has a meaning.

I really like this concept. . . this is a magnet right? I wish that the floating magnet were in focus and that the base (this looks to be a sort of office desk gadget) was more obviously a magnet, like one of those U shapped ones. I like your choice to have a simple background
