Confusing background and subject, but it looks like you've shown the full progression of a bloom here. It's beautiful but the subject's depth of focus is too narrow to retain interest in the other elements. Perhaps you could have used the depth of field to show the progression more by aligning them (bud closest to the camera) in a linear fashion and then focusing on the final 'exposed' result.
It's just a thought and might not work mind! ;) |

| How pretty! What kind of flower is that? Having the two of them side by side with a coupld of pods is very well thought out but the balance seems off a bit. Almost like you could cut the shot in half and you probably could have and still gotten your point across with the partially opened one and pod on the right. The colors are wonderful but the light seems just a tad harsh. Starting this one with a 7 |

| The image is a little grainy, but it almost feels like an underwater shot because of that. In a good way! :) I like that you have examples of "concealed" next to "revealed" to show us the difference. An interesting take on the challenge! |

Nice idea, would have had more impact if the bloom on the right was only just emerging.
But nicely seen and lit however it odes appear a bit soft or OOF. |

| This is a beautiful flower. I can see that there would be lots of interesting photo opportunities here. The lighting here is fair, but the blue in the background seems to 'get in the way' somehow. |

Good Points:good choice of flower - very different
Bad Points:looks clumsy, and 2 colors don't work (blue and black)

| Nice photo, the subject in general is a little over-done, but the inherent interest due to the color and design of the flowers makes the photo stand out. I also like the balanced aspect of it with the furled and unfurled flowers. Nice Job! 7 |
