 All tweaking (except for file resizing) performed in Canon DPP. The lens used was a Canon 70 - 200 F2.8 L which I rented for the weekend prior to my one being bought when a friend visits the US later this month.

Its been FOUR LONG YEARS since I last had a top ten image. Thanks to everyone who voted & commented on this image. I was walking in the forest with my rented lens working on a project I have been commisioned for by the local hospital. They are openeing a new building and have asked me to supply imagery from the surrounding areas to have up as decor in all the new wards. This image is part of a Tryptych.

Still cant believe I got a ribbon, let alone the blue. The competition was incredibly strong. Well done everyone. Going by current form this means I should expect my next ribbon in 2010 sometime. cant wait!!

Very Good. I love the inclusion of more than one frond. At first glance the picture appears very busy, upon further review it becomes very ordered and balanced. Congrats.

This is a very breathe taking image. I have looked at it during the challenge, but did not comment. I love the softness of that it displays, which says you have a good eye, along with timing. Great work.

Congratulations...this was my top pick and for once I was correct! Wonderful composition; you have very discerning eye for beauty...will add a touch of beauty and an empathy for nature in any hospital ward.

I'm trying to decide where I would hang this one in my house. Definately a wall hanger. I think its the tones, mood, depth, and of course bokeh, that are just simply amazing. Very cool, well done. Way to go with balancing it so perfect. GL.

Great colors, nice detail ont he forefront, cool patterns and the varying degrees of blur headed back surely add to the impact of the image. This has a feel of an Elsapo image. Very nice work.

My second favorite photo in the challenge. I like the smooth bokeh and the monotone color type. It makes the image. It is like a high quality B&W, but in color. 8.
