Just my observations - take what you need and bin the rest...
Would praying not be a pre-match rather than post-match activity? Well, I'm a Brit and I'm not sure about the protocol here - so I'll give you the benfit of the doubt on that one. :)
I like the crop taking out part of his boot - just saying that 'cos I'm guessing you may get picked up on it by others. I'm not saying they're wrong but for me it adds to the off-centred feel and gives it a bit of edge somehow.
Think I might consider a slight crop from the bottom just to remove the white line bottom right (distracting once you've spotted it).
Not sure what the partial saturation achieves here - for me it takes away from the overall mood of the image since I notice the team logo more than the activity of the player.
Nice exposure and the patterns in the grass work well in directing attention towards the players bowed head. |

A beautiful photo. Yet the challenge expresses: ââ¦after the game is over and the players and people have gone homeâ :(

I like this it reminds me of times when I thank God for his help in my life or ask for some. |

Looks like a player is still there. Nice selective desaturation, I think that shallower DOF would give better isolation and blur out the grass distractions. Also would like to see the whole foot. Hope that it's a prayer of thanks. |

Nice use of selective desat; interesting and appealing image. I'm sure you're getting hit with the DNMC votes. I would suggest not cropping out the foot if at all possible; it makes the image feel "amputated" if you pardon the pun. |

This image sets a mood and I think the conversion to B&W was a good choice.
I would have liked this image better if the boy's foot wasn't cut off and perhaps you moved him down to the bottom of the frame. Being in prayer, I think leaving all the space above his head (like a church with the open, lofty ceilings) would feel "right". This images also has more of a "before game" feel to me - I'll admit to not having watched any youth football games but it seems prayer tends to come before the game; regardless, if his uniform (and/or dirty skin) had shown the effects of having played then that would have been moot.
For me a big part of this challenge was how to make an image (of a sports venue) compelling and interesting without people. I'm marking you down based on my interpretation of the challenge criteria.
Thanks for sharing. |

Nice shot. Too bad the selective color will probably mean a dq. Even if not, you'll be dinged for people in. I like it, though. 6. |

A good moment to capture, but doesn't this normally occur before the game? Cropping the dark grass off the bottom seems to make a better composition I think, but the dash of color is nice. |

My first thought when viewing this shot is my grandsons. They play football (highschool) and it makes me think of the coach yelling "take a knee"!!
You cut his right foot a bit too snug but the focus and desat is very nice. Good luck in the challenge. |

Wonderful choice of desat IMO. If this challenge was about the players it would score highly. Unfortunately, I thought the challenge is about capturing a photograph AFTER the players and people have left. :( Again, wonderful image (really!) - not quite right for this challenge IMO however. Best of luck to you. |

love this except for the selective desat. I think the prayer is the point, but the red makes me try to make sense of the team mascot, or logo, or whatever that is.
More contrast in the B&W would make this stronger. |

Great shot, although I don't think you need the selective use of color helps here. Some more contast could really make the player stand out better |

AFTER they have all gone home was the challenge. |

The image istelf is good but too tightly cropped on the right as the players foot is cut off. I presume selective desat to keep the red - if so then that is done well. The sadu bit is that as the challenge said "the players and people have gone home" I have to DNMC this: 3 - sorry :( |

This rather hints a "before the game" not "after" - the uniform is too clean and he seems to tidy and composed... |
