Thanks for the really great comments. I'm really proud of this shot and I feel many elelments came togather in its making. the little girl actually lives in a slum area in Bangkok almost immediately on the tracks. I was wondering up the tracks last week and a group of kids kept warning me oif trains approaching. She was one of them. The rest of the gallery can be found here..

Compelling shot and the border suits it just fine in my opinion.

there is nothing upsetting about seeing this finish 57th...
because it is still beautiful, and the votes don't change that...
congrats on creating such a compelling image!

Me too, underrated but much appreciated here. Keep up the good work. Yours seems to get better as we go along.

A fascinating capture on the model - I love her look of impertinence.

Cute expression on the little girl. Lighting is good and the soft focus seems to work well here. I don't care for the large border. I think it could have been at least 50% smaller.

Cute kid! More importantly, I think the shot is well composed. The girl is not interfering with the tracks, which really draw your eyes deeper into the shot, without letting go.

Great candid but I don't think you should of made the border so wide.

I like the colour you have chosen to use and the way the focus is on the young girl. I also think the wide frame works here. good luck!

This photo is the only reason I'm taking time to vote this week. It's AWESOME ! It has EVERYTHING going for it. The composition is superb...from the rule of thirds and DOF to the sepia tone used. This is one of the best children photos I've seen. It reminds me of a old photo. A lot of people try to get this effect and fail. 10 + + +
