It appears that the only thing which stopped this gaining a ribbon was that the contradiction was not in the title but between the title and the image.
Great shame as it is an excellent image and a superb first submission.
Look forward to seeing future entries.

Great photo but 'free spirit' isnt an oxymoron. I get it in the picture but not the title... but I cant bring myself to rate low on such a good shot.

Nice idea. Powerful eyes and for once, a way to work in the usually annoying chain-link fence. Strong statement, strong work, hope that people caught it all, and that it does well. Love it.

Lovely shot, but to me Free Spirit is by no stretch of the imagination an oxymoron. To me your shot speaks gorgeous, sad volumes, but it isnt really a picture of an oxymoron.
Still, though, great work, I really like this shot...

Why is it that monkeys etc are so emotive, you only have to look in their eyes to see how they are feeling. Sad shot.
