Ice cube on fire. I was planning to enter the lighting challenge and had worked so hard on my entry then i suddenly got this idea and just went with it. Tried looking up on the web how to set an ice cube on fire and didnt find anything too useful, so i decided to gather up all the toxic flammable art supplies I have (rubber cement, alcohol, spray fixative, paint thinner, chalk pastel oil, and some other little things) and do a little experimenting. In the end it was remarkably easier to set up than i would have ever imagined... just an ice cube coated in rubber cement on a black baking tray. Additional lighting was from a strobe on the left.

Congratulations, I have tried to achieve this exact photograph a few times without success. It seems I used the wrong ingredients, the 40% alcohol wouldn't burn :)

Nice colors, composition, reflection, classical. The stray small reflections(?) on the left are a little distracting and confusing.

Good shot to make the ice appear to be on fire, although that looks like a matchhead over on the left, which spoils the illusion a little.
