I like the way you caught modern vs historic and static vs fluid nature of life in a city such as London. And the exposure is nearly perfect with beautiful shades of gray. |

This is great! The lighting/ exposure are superb - especially for a long exposure such as this. I was here only a week or two ago and also found the cranes and paraphernalia of modern architecture surrounding St Pauls to be quite intriguing. What I like most about this is the way you pull people into the image without actually focusing on individuals since the essence of Urbanity is the population inhabiting it. This really is one of my favourite entries in this challenge. |

Interesting concept and capture. Well framed and B&W works in this situation. |

This is excellent. Oddly enough, I think the picture is even more compelling with the cranes and the one still person. |

I like ithis - it just says 'busy' to me. The construction work, the moving figures... Very nice. |

This photo seems too cluttered to me. You had a nice image, but the motion takes away from it for me. It's too mind-boggling. If there were less people moving, it would have worked. 6 |

I like the idea, but you probably exposed it for a bit too long - the bottom right spoils the picture |

I like the way you managed to get the line down the middle of st. pauls, the railings and the homeless chap. |

Excellent symmetry, good use of low shutter speed to create the "busy crowd" effect. Excellent black and white exposure. |

This is a really wonderful shot! I love the way you've included people, which are as much a part of urban landscapes as are buildings. It really expresses the hustle and bustle of city life. The tones are great as well. |

Like the motion in this picture that reveals the crazy world of the city. Like the crane too that show the fast groth of the city. Very well seen. |

I suspect it's supposed to look hectic, but I still find it a bit too cluttered. However, if HECTIC is what you were going for, you certainly achieved it. |

This HAS to win! I love how the image is split in half: the upper part is static but crowded with buildings and cranes, and the bottom half is relatively empty but filled with movement. Awesome composition, focus, depth of field. I would give this 11 if I could. :) This would be perfect also for the "exposed" challenge in my opinion! |

I like the use of black and white, and the long exposure. You have captured the essence of a fast paced city. There is a lot going on in this photo. I like the capital being perfectly centered. Well done. |

Awesome shot! I suggesst using a tad bit faster shutter speed to clear up the shadows and blotches so you can see the people a little better, but interesting just the same. 9 |

Nice use of black and white to focus attention on the rich detail of the buildings. The blury figure in the foreground is distracting in a way that the sharper figures further away are not. |

I thought this was a cheating entry at first, but it turns out it is an almost identical shot to one in this month's Total Digital Photographer magazine (page 113, by Richard Wentk). I'd like to give it a 10, but the fact that there is an almost identical photo on the newstands this month knocks it down for me. It also needs more sharpening. 7 |
