 This was just a candid shot of my friend trying on a headband at a street faire that turned into sooo much more in editing. I smoothened out some wrinkles near her chin and eyes because she was kind of smirking when I took this. I really didn't mess with her eyes, there really are THAT white! I blurred the background because there was almost no DOF, but unfortuately it also darkened the background. I also added a border for the first time, which I think really enhaces the highlights in her hair and give it an "Octobery" sort of feel with the orange and black. I know that average portraits don't do well in free studies, but I just love the color and the look in her eyes here. Hopefully, other people will too.

Good exposure here and the background offers plenty of interest...though it looks like the focus is a touch soft.

Very pretty young lady. Nice job of blurring out the background to bring her fully into the front. To me it looks like her lips, nose, and eyes are a little unnatural, but hey, who knows, maybe she is that clean and smooth in real life. :D Good luck in the challenge.

Beautiful girl, excellent sharpness and skin tones. I can't say I'm as enthusiastic about the border, though. It seems to ruin an otherwise awesome shot.
