great that there is actually atmosphere in this image of lumps of wood. The focus is a little soft on his hands and knees

this image has nice lighting. Nice pose, but not sure about the thing in his arms. Maybe something else would have givven a better feel. but this seems like something dark and evil. doesn't give me the heart to heart your title suggest, but it is well done minus the extra figure.
