OUCH!!!! I've come back to this shot several times trying to figure out exactly what bothers me about it and I think it's the coloring. The hands are dirty which they should be representing what they do but there is too much red, I think less would have been more on this shot. |

For others . . . ketchup! Just kidding. I take it from the title that this is a messianic photo, and infers allusions to Christ? Interesting pose and effect. You might try experimenting with different points of view and other poses to get the allusion solid, even without the title. |

Oh man that is gorey. Very realistic, but needs more light. Overall it's too dark I think. Also for maximum effect I think I'd have tilted it 90 degrees to the right to make the hand face downwards.... that would explain all the blood on the hand/palm, etc. |

If you are trying to depict the nail through the hand, and thus Jesus, it would have been more effective if there were some rough wood somewhere in the background and just the one hand in the picture. With the current composition, I feel sympathy for the injury, but it could be anyone. There is a disconnect between the title and the image. Technically good. maybe too much blood of the wrong consistency for it to look real. |

I, too consider ketchup a salvation. Seriously though, this picture would have more punch if the hand were dangling along the side of a porcelin bath tub, blood dripping on the floor. That simple pose would show the viewer that the subject is dead or dying and give a sense of direction. RIght now the image shows a red mess. It looks less like a suicide attempt and more like finger painting. IMHO. |

Eww! Man that blood even looks real! And the skin on the hand looks .... naaaa this isn't real is it? If that is fake then you've made an awesome job of making it look authentic. |

No question you convey a sense of a badly bleeding hand....but from where and why? if because of a slit wrist or sucide, ones nightmare. but no clarity. The image has good tones, focus and use of thirds but can not get a sense of what has happened...hope this helps:) 4 |
