 This is a welder from the power company where I work. I was shooting for the faceless portrait but was afraid I would get a lot of DNMC votes because you can't see much of the person. It is pretty contrasty though so here we are. I have not idea how bad this could do. I know voters don't tend to like bright spots...but hey...he's welding!!!

Crop, levels, curves, brightness, contrast, sharpen, neat image, hue saturation, selective colors, save for web.

Over saturating the colours is really what has given this the edge here. I thought it was a great entry. Had I voted, I would have given it a 7. Cool lens flare on the upper left too!

Wow, this hurts my eyes as if I was actually watching a welder. I think you have done a good job on the exposure. The fact that you can actually see details on his mask and it is not too dark is impressive to me.

I honestly don't know why this didn't score a lot higher, but then, c'est la vie.

The weld flash is so bright you need sunglasses. Great use of high contrast.
