It might just be me, but I think it is pretty interesting. I don't know why. Maybe because it's so different.

the idea of the challenge was to use high contrast to improve the impact of a photo - you've used it to destroy whatever photographic quality there was. And you've also committed the DPC sin of not submitting a full size photo - your photo should be 640 pixels wide, not 500 - it makes a huge difference to your score.

The blow up is too much imo, and everything else is out of focus.

Not sure if you were going for the effect, but it is highly overexposed and the redish tint doesn't really provide contrast as much as a darker color.

Whoa. I guess it's high contrast, but yeesh, that doesn't imply "completely blown out" to the point where you can't see the face any more. This looks like one of my very first pictures I ever took when I was a kid in the 70s.
