Wow, great capture

It's a good picture but it makes one wince.
10/07/2006 09:04:29 AM
...and in the next frame, rider-as-lawn-dart? If he really is a college student, perhaps he has the ability to bounce, like I did way back then. ;-) Great timing on your capture.

Almost beautiful, this. I would have it in black and white - it would remove the humdrum everyday element that this kind of ordinary colour brings to a photograph - we know the grass is green, the horse is probably brown, the logs are borwn, the sky is a shade of blue etc. etc., and it would focus the attention on the extraordinary shapes of these figures that you have captured.

Fantastic caputre and so sharp. wow!
10/05/2006 03:37:32 PM
amazing capture. the helplessness of the horse is so poignant. horse and rider both seem to be in a gentle state of acceptance. The rider looks to already be comforting the horse. 8

OMG was the horse & rider ok?? Looks like the horse took the worst of it :(
10/04/2006 08:58:35 PM
Ouch! Excellent, albiet a painful, capture of a moment in time! Well done. I hope the horse and rider were ok.
10/04/2006 08:37:12 PM
oh man...poor horsey...perfectly timed shot though
10/04/2006 11:57:12 AM
Yikes. Disturbing subject matter, though good action 'catch.'
10/04/2006 10:51:39 AM
Hope they were not hurt!
10/04/2006 07:58:43 AM
I had to look at this image twice..couldn't believe you managed to capture this. Hope that horse and rider were both ok. From a photography standpoint -excellent photojournalism type of shot. Right place, right time. Well captured.

Wow, amazing capture, was the horse (and rider) ok??
10/03/2006 03:29:37 AM
The poor horse, you could send this to americas funnest andimals and get it on there definately. great capture.
10/03/2006 02:15:39 AM
I hope the horse is alright. That looked like a nasty fall. It hurts to look at it.
10/02/2006 05:30:43 PM
One can feel what came next. It is indeed a startling photo.
10/02/2006 05:19:44 PM
Amazing timing! I hope both the rider and the horse were ok!
10/02/2006 04:56:01 PM
good capture of an event but I don't think the image itself is fabulous 5
10/02/2006 03:53:51 PM
Great timing - hope you kept your finger on the button cause the next couple would be interesting; not that we watch this stuff for the crashes you understand :-).
10/02/2006 01:35:05 PM
Ouch. I've seen this happen quite a few times, and it never ends up good.
10/02/2006 12:08:49 PM
Been there before! Always an unpleasant experience.
10/02/2006 11:54:28 AM
perfect timing with excellent POV and DOF. well done!
10/02/2006 01:01:28 AM
ouch! well captured
10/01/2006 04:07:05 PM
Well that definitely tells a story - and even with a catch light in the horses eye.
10/01/2006 11:22:21 AM
That had to hurt... nice caputre.
10/01/2006 10:25:11 AM
Ouch, I hope that wasn't too painful for either party.
10/01/2006 07:17:14 AM
sorry for the horse, but you were at the right place in right time - good capture
10/01/2006 03:16:13 AM
That does not look comfortable...

I think the image would have been better if you had framed it so that the horse/rider were falling into the image (that is, on the right side) rather than centered. WOuld have made it more dynamic.
10/01/2006 02:26:07 AM
good action shot here, right place, at the right time...
09/30/2006 11:35:01 PM
ow
09/30/2006 08:57:21 PM
Ouch!
Excellent timing on the shutter here.
This would have had more impact (pun intended) had there been some hint of motion blur in my opinion.
09/30/2006 08:49:53 PM
ouch! poor horse. great capture
09/30/2006 08:06:39 PM
That poor baby. Hope he wasn't seriously hurt. Great focus.
