Photographer’s Notes
Anacortes Washington (USA) holds a motorcycle event each September. This year’s was the 25th annual “Oyster Run” wherein 15,000 motorcycles descend on a town of 9,000 otherwise peaceful, if somewhat eclectic, folks. Everyone is well behaved. Everyone gets along remarkably well. Everyone seems to have a good time. See my “Oyster Run” portfolio folder for some of the bikes, bikers, and biker babes from last Sunday!
For the record, I spent the day shooting with jbsmithana who lives in Anacortes and part of the time, we were shooting together. I have no idea if he will submit, or what, but he's pretty good and I'll look forward to seeing what he gets!
I am bummed about Basic Editing. I would have liked to tone down the hot spot on the fuel tank, and there are a lots of specks I would have preferred to clone out. These’ll probably hurt the score. In any event, the event was fun and the photos will be a fun reminder of it.

Critique Club Review:
Focus is excellent. Lazer sharp capture.
Color/saturation/hue: I think you lost points on the lack of purple. I noticed it commented below, and the purple is minimal on my monitor also. Did it look more purple on your monitor? There is some nice purple reflection in the chrome. Nothing is over saturated, and hues look normal.
I would have liked to see a little more of the engine work and tank towards the front of the bike. But then that could be more of a personal I like bikes request as opposed to absolutely necessary for the image thing.
Great detail on the engine, all the various lines and surfaces reflect and compliment the image well.
I would have thought this image would have scored somewhat higher. It wasn't a very purple image, but it is a very good image. |

Nice purple reflections. the crop feels a bit tight, but I see that the background may have been more distracting than the crop. |
