shot in natural light after drenching this bush and spider web with the mist from a hose. in Photoshop, increased contrast, adjusted levels and curves, lowered saturation and lightness on master a small amount, greens a little bit more and reds quite a bit. lowered these to seperate spider from the background.

Nice shot! It shows the rain on the web well, but also shows a very interesting subject even with all the distractions around.

Was it possible to move your perspective somehow so that what was directly behind the spider was lighter? The lower legs are lost in the background. Sometimes it is tough and sometimes I cheat and actually put something lighter back there (more leaves, a flower, etc). 5

I am so in awe of spiders but so affraid of them all at once! This is a wonderful image though! Maybe you didn't even need the right side to get the impact across, just a thought. Great shot! 8o)
