Well, I love textures, color, and abstract, so couldn't go passed taking a "macro" shot of my neighbours weathered rocks, which they have as a garden edge. I love the way the rock has exposed itself with the weather, chipping away layers of rock, to show the deep rich jewel colors beneath.
Shot at 60.0mm away with my macro lens, on a tripod.
Shot in the raw format, and processed as much as possible in my "raw" shooter program.
In photo shop, I did a tiny bit of cloning, and some burning.
I then sharpened in smart sharpen, and unsharp mask, plus reduced noice, plus brightness and contrast.
I then added a border, and re size for web..... |

| I had no clue what this one was, but that was the point of the challenge, right? The colors are so warm and wonderful, this one kept getting bumped up as I looked at it each time. Well done! :) |
