 It's an Oral B Pulsar toothbrush, the kind with a battery inside that vibrates when you brush.

Shot in a white still life box with a piece of green scrapbook paper behind the toothbrush. Two 1000 watt work lights through white umbrellas. Used 13mm & 21mm extension tubes.

convert from RAW, crop, resize, curves, Hue/Saturation, Brightness/Contrast, Shadow/Highlight, Noise Ninja, clone/heal to remove sendor dust (and a lot of it), USM

Hello from the Critique Club!

Oh Wow, I really like this image and personally think it should have scored higher.

The composition is great and well though-out. The repitition of bristle rows is very interesting and additive to the photograph.

You have captured great detail in the bristles themselves. This image is tack sharp and exposure looks great on my monitor.

The only thing I could suggest is replacing the green paper with another color that contrasts and make the foreground "pop" a little more. Maybe that is what the voters were looking for.

Overall GREAT image. Happy shooting!

I love this shot, I think you have used an appropriate subject and it really satisfies the criteria, I didn't realise what it was (quick glance) until i read the title!
