| All I can say is WOW, and thanks for making me think of off setting my white balance and tint inside the camera on purpose to achieve color effects. I'll bet my new camera will allow me to do this completely internal now. |

| Hey Jason, congrats on the blue ribbon, great to see Cannon Beach on the homepage! It's a well taken shot, and fits the theme of purple, but it seems unrealistic to me (which also may be a reason it ribboned). |

| I would like to see a page devoted to ribboning Cannon Beach shots. Congrats on the retina searing quality of this pic. Dont care for the bird FWIW, and is suspect you might have cropped it out if cropping wouldn't removed the seastacks dome. Congrats! |

Congrats on another well deserved blue. I like your judicious use of RAW conversion parameters in your image processing. That is what set this picture apart from the others. |

| beautiful lighting and reflection, i like the positioning within the frame with the fact that the rock is comfortably off centre and also occupying the majority of the height of the picture. Can't make up my mind about the bird, on the one hand it brings a feeling of it being deserted all but the bird but on the other hand I'm wondering if the picture would look better without it...? |

| Back to comment. Coming across this the first time around I said to myself "There is the winner". Didnt even have to look at all of the entries (though I did). I dont think I could list all of the things that are excellent about this pic and I dont think I could find one thing wrong with it. This should be a print. Hope you are watching your score cause you are about to see a serious bump. Started you with my obligatory 7 as an image marker for my return view. Good luck inthe challenge (though I dont think you will need it). |

Composition/Crop = Great (horizon is in the center but works here. the main rock silhouette is set on the right 1/3rd very well. Bird could have been in a better location. darn him!
Lighting = Exceptional (love the fact the sun is completely behind the main rock formation)
Color = Exceptional (The gradient is spectacular)
Creativity = Great (I have not seen many similar scenery images)
Concept/Story = Great
Focus/DOF = Great
Subject = Great (Meets challenge requirements)
Wow Factor = Exceptional
Marketability = Exceptional
Overall I love everything about this image. Especially the 'ghostly' apearance of the furthest rock formation. I don't think this image would have worked without it. |
