Nice composition. Not sure about focus. I like the colourisation, nice editing. Good luck. |

Wow - quite a moment to capture. It's a pity the light is so bright, though - it washes out the edges of the bird. |

Good catch of motion, although a faster shutter speed might have frozen the action a little better. The car in the background is a big distraction - shame you can't clone it out. There's also quite a lot of CA generally. |

well I am a newbie here but if it were me, I could see that blighjt of a red beast in the background being ixnayed out or recolored through manipulation, I dunno if thats within rules, but if it was for perfection in the artistic contentthis photo has no place, otherwise this is stunning, I love the motion in the wings the form of the creature, thats a stunning photo worth much time to make into a wonderful pievce of art worthy of hanging on a wall, and I am not one for wall hanging much, wonderfully done, jeeze I don't even know how to compare half these photos now I am seeing some elegant and amazing stuff ranging from classic beauty such as this to stunning modern contrast like the one I just came from, simply an amazing photo yo have here though, nothing short of spectacular in every essence of atmosphere and the contrasty exposure from over to slightly under on the subject, that darn blight of a car though it has to go :P LOL, be damned with the rules whatever they may be LOL |

too much motion and loss of focus for me and the blurred red car is a real distraction |

The placement of the gull in this shot is quite good. Ther are some things that let you down badly though. The image is really quite soft and ther is alot of halo-ing around the wings and the objects in the shot. This may be due to the camera you are using, I'm not sure, it's hard to tell.
The grass and shoreline in the background cut through your image and, as a result, detract from the main subject, perhaps with a higher elevation this could have been avoided. The red car in the background (bad timing for that car to there huh?) also detracts from the image. Finally, the bird partly hidden by the main subject also detracts from the main subject. It sort of looks like a wierd third wing. I know this all sounds quite critical, but I think that by being aware of these things surrounding your main subject you will improve your photography in no time. I have given you a 4 for this image but I think that you have the potential of a good image here. Hopefully you find these comments helpful, if you would like to discuss the shot further afer the challenge is over let me know.

Although I realize it probably couldn't be helped, the red car in the background is a bit distracting. |

I like this picture alot, almost wish though that the shutter speed was a bit higher so the bird looked more suspended, but the challenge was called flight and he looks in flight.. |
