 This lighthouse is about 3 miles from my home, I literally have to stand on someones lawn to take this, and at 11:45pm, it's not a comfortable feeling. The foliage on the bottom corners were cropped so they can create a natural border on bottom only...I used a tripod, most of the color is natural from the light capture, I desaturated the yellow and red gradients a little, and boosted purple slightly..I also boosted the contrast, and sharpened it. Finally the border a little crop, scaled it and a final USM.

wow !...my old cam is got some left in her ! thanks for voting everyone !

From what I've heard about visiting Staten Island light, you really were risking it taking this shot. My understanding is that the neighbors aren't lighthouse visitor "friendly".

This is absolutely gorgeous.

Great shot, but the colour looks more like violet than purple to me (as says in the title). Excellent work though.(6)
